CAN login, CANT see

Ok so I've read other players posts about not being able to login. I'm having a slightly different login issue. As soon as the game patches (which it does w/o a problem), the screen it loads to is pitch black, in such a way that the ONLY thing that shows are the little "x" showing me where to click to exit. I managed to login anyway by watching where my mouse cursor changes, enabling me to type in my login info, but since I'm a new player in this pserver, I can't create a character because the screen after the login screen is also pitch black. Can someone please tell me how to go about approaching this obstacle?

Ok i have the same problem on my laptop you just have to hover around till you find the create character button. i found it by randomly clicking around trust me you can create a character after that you can see everything the only problem is every time you log in you will have to find your way round except when it gets to the character screen everything shows up i dont know why its just a bit glitchy.

i tried this but even the character creation screen is black (i hovered around and double clicked a random server, since i can't see that either)

I take it you dont have a character. if not then you have to create one this will take time but once you click create everything will appear essentially you have to go down and right from the left hand arrow create is the only one that works apart from back but thats at the end.
